Fundamentals of Natural Food to Heal Your Body [ 4 ]

Welcome back, my Jinpath Sik-Gu.
Today, we reach the final step in our journey through George Ohsawa’s Principles of Natural Gourmet. Together, we have explored Whole Food, Natural, Fresh, Organic, Local, Seasonal, and Ancestral.
Step by step, we are building a solid base to truly care for our health and daily life.
8. [In Sync with Nature]: Finding Your Internal Balance
The eighth principle is In Sync with Nature.
You might wonder: What exactly am I syncing with? Where do I find this balance?
At its core, this principle touches on the ancient wisdom of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements—the fundamental interplay of warm and cool, expansion and relaxation, and the natural energies that flow through all living things. Rather than memorizing complex theories, it is much simpler to understand this through temperature and energy: eating foods that gently balance what your environment demands.
Nature does not require you to study complicated science to practice this. Your body already possesses an ancient, intuitive compass.
Think about a hot summer day. A single bite of a crisp cucumber, a juicy tomato, or a sweet slice of watermelon immediately floods your body with a refreshing, cooling sensation. Nature provides precisely what we need to dissipate internal summer heat.
Now, picture a freezing winter morning. Your body does not crave cold watermelon; it longs for the deep, soothing warmth of hot ginger tea or a nourishing bowl of warm grains.
When we listen to these gentle physical signals, our immunity remains steady and our vitality stays grounded. However, there is one crucial distinction we must make: we must learn to separate our body’s true biological wisdom from the artificial cravings created by modern food addictions. To hear that quiet, authentic internal voice, we must keep our minds and meals clean.
This balance leads us directly into our final principle.
